Unspoiled and pure
The Artesian spring of the natural mineral water is located at a height of about 1,000 metres in the Beneidó mountains. Monks already farmed the land and raised cattle here 1,000 years ago. Old terraces from that time can still be seen and are clear evidence of the fact that precious water was abundant and appreciated at the time.
To preserve the original purity of the spring, the Spanish government granted Pineo a protective zone of several square kilometres all around the spring, which will ensure optimal water quality for years to come. This is probably one of the reasons why Pineo has long been appreciated as a "trendy" high-quality mineral water in the bars and restaurants of Barcelona, 100 km away.
